 Artella Daily Muse Interview

Daily Muse: How would you describe your art?

NB: I combine an abstract, decorative style with contemporary influences. Painting is my visual and emotional thought process about nature, life, love and eternity.

DM: What is your favourite piece of your own art? Why?

NB: All my paintings are my babies and I love them all.

DM: What people, places, or things inspire you most?

NB: I’m inspired by everything around me – nature, family, ordinary objects. I look out the window and see a bare tree branch, a sky that is never the same and it sparks my imagination. I look at my daughter’s smile and a lot of emotions come up. I express myself through painting with all my heart and soul.

DM: What does your studio or creative workspace look like?

NB: It’s a big white room with 3 rows of paintings on every wall.

DM: How do you organize your art supplies?

NB: I TRY to keep my studio neat and clean… this way I can start painting when I like without cleaning it first. Rolling carts of drawers are really helpful in the organizing of art supplies.

DM: What art supply can you not live without?

NB: Paint. I use many mediums but prefer to work with oil.

DM: What music do you love to hear while you’re creating?

NB: I love to listen to all types of music. It really depends on my mind. Music influences mood and mood decides which music to listen to. Sometimes I like things to be quite, so I can think and gather all emotions together again.

DM: What is your favourite quote?

NB: “There is no must in art because art is free.” (Wassily Kandinsky)
